Welcome to my portfolio. My work focuses on the intersection of ethnomusicology, cultural preservation, and quantitative analysis. Below are my ongoing active projects.
The Nashville Soundscape Archive
Type: Oral History & Fieldwork | Status: Ongoing
Nashville is globally branded as “Music City,” but its sonic borders extend far beyond Country music. The Nashville Soundscape Archive is an independent, qualitative fieldwork project dedicated to documenting the diverse, underrepresented musical traditions cultivated by diaspora communities in Middle Tennessee. Through semi-structured interviews and live audio recordings, this project preserves the stories of Kurdish, Brazilian, Iranian, and Afrobeat artists, securing their cultural narratives for the local public library archive.

The Field Journal
Type: Cultural Criticism & Music Journalism | Status: Active Updates
The Field Journal is an ongoing collection of sonic reviews and cultural deep-dives from musical events/performances I attend. This journal is meant to track underground, traditional, and hybrid genres across the globe as well as an in-depth analysis of the music. The main idea is to explore how music acts as a language for isolation, identity, and resistance.
